Zana Ali and Me jan Sulaiman, Iyad Hayatleh
Zana Ali and Me jan Sulaiman
Kurdish music and song
Me jan and Zana grew-up speaking different Kurdish dialects. Me jan from Rojava (Kurdistan in Syria) learnt Kurmancî and Zana from Bashur (Kurdistan in Iraq), Sorani. Kurdish music brings people together despite language diversity. Me jan and Zana met in Maslow's charity shop in Govan in 2018 and have been performing together ever since.
