Cultural Secretary

Zakia Sultana is a Socio- Linguist. She has a Master’s Degree in English Language and BA Hons in English Literature from Dhaka University. She has also obtained a Master’s Degree in English Socio-Linguistics from the University of Aberdeen UK.

She started her career as an academic and served for Bangladesh Civil Service in the Education Cadre for ten years. She worked as a Project Coordinator for an organization in Aberdeen which promotes Cross Cultural Diversity and Equality. Alongside, she also worked as a Visiting Lecturer for ESOL at Aberdeen College.

Zakia moved to Glasgow and worked in a Consulting role as a Facilitator with a Glasgow-based organization which gave her the opportunity to work closely with diverse communities. MS. Sultana has a passion for Language and culture with an aim to promote diversity and equality.

She has been a member of the Bangladesh Association Glasgow since 2015 and participated in various activities organized by BAG and performed in several cultural programs by BAG.
