Ms. Samiya Haque Khan LLB is serving as Vice president of Bangladesh Association Glasgow (BAG). She completed Bar at law, and has been a voice against social injustice and inequality. Samiya has been busy in multiple charity works including Bangladesh Association Glasgow, Bengali performing arts and Bangla Bidya Niketon. She is an excellent orator. She represented BAG and Bangladeshi women on BBC radio in an interview. She has been teaching Bengali language to children for more than 15 years. She was a co-director of acting of the play MEMORi staged in one of Scotland's most internationally acclaimed theatre venues ‘Tramway theatre’ during a theatre festival of National Theatre Scotland (NTS). She performed as theatre artist in ‘Kobor after’ which was staged at Mitchell Theatre during the Glasgow Language Festival; and performed in the play ‘Lascari’; the play relates historical events and facts of Lascars, and development of curry industries in Scotland. Lascari was staged at the cargo deck of the iconic 1890’s ship ‘The Glenlee’. She represents and leads the women of the Bangladeshi community. She lives in Cambuslang with husband and two daughters.
