Tawona Sithole (Ganyamatope), poetry, songs and Mbira music from Zimbabwe

Tawona Sithole, better known as Ganyamatope (from his ancestral family name) is a poet, playwright, storyteller and musician from Zimbabwe. His heritage inspires him to make connections with other people through creativity. He is currently UNESCO artist-in-residence at the University of Glasgow in the team led by Professor Alison Phipps, who is the holder of the UNESCO Chair in Refugee Integration through Languages and the Arts. He is poet-in-residence with Glasgow Refugee, Asylum and Migration Network (GRAMNET) and Honorary Research Fellow with the school of education at the University of Glasgow since 2013. He co-founded Seeds of Thought, a none-funded arts group promoting creative writing and performance. His most recent publication of poems, with Alison Phipps, is The Warriors Who Do Not Fight; Wild Goose Publications, 2018.
